Introducing L'Oreal Colorzap Hair Color Remover, made to zap away unwanted permanent hair dye.
In my case, I dyed my hair black twice in the last three months and recently, after deciding that I was tired of looking pale and tired of people thinking that I was wearing a wig, I wanted to change the color. I went to Target to buy an auburn hair dye, hoping it would work but apparently, after wasting my money and time dying it, the end result was still BLACK! I was panicking, like every girl would when their hair doesn't come out the way they expected. I decided to take a trip down to Sally's to buy bleach. Instead of buying the bleach, which would turn my black hair green according to the people who work there, they recommended ColorZap, which was very popular among many of their customers who had had a bad hair dye job. I brought it home, skeptical to try it but excited at the same time.
Amount: $10-12
Effectiveness: I'll say 85%, would have been 100% but my hair is long and there wasn't enough in the bottle to cover my entire head. I would rec. two bottles if you have long hair.
Pros: Didn't smell bad, took out most of my black color
Cons: It was a mixture of liquid and powder so it wasn't very thick and was difficult to handle such that it dripped everywhere, the price is a bit high but maybe that's only because I'm a cheap person, made my hair dry and nappy afterwards
Overall: It did it's job of removing the tint of black on my hair. It was good to see my black dye wash away in the shower down the drain. You have to apply it evenly to get even results, as for me, I didn't have enough for the top part of my head so only the bottom was complete rid of the black.
Before: Black Hair
This was about a few weeks ago. Notice how my hair is completely black and I look pale
This was about a few weeks ago. Notice how my hair is completely black and I look pale
After: Patchy hair
My hair became auburn-ish and brown in certain areas from the ColorZap. I didn't have enough for the top part of my hair such as parts of my bang but overall, I think if I had two bottles, my whole head would have been complete rid of the black tint. The problem was that I had bleached the bottom half of my hair before I dyed it black so the ColorZap made that area of my head more prominent and lighter in color.
